Adoptions

HOW ADOPTIONS WORK

All of our cats are:

  • desexed
  • microchipped
  • had their initial vaccination
  • wormed and flea treated.

We do a 21 day trial period with every adoption, so if it does not work out we will require that the Cat or Kitten is returned to us and you will receive the adoption fee refunded – minus a $50 admnin fee.

You can check our cats for adoption below and on our Facebook Page. There are delays with uploading our cats – this means cats shown here might already be adopted or cats that have become available are not shown here.

Once you’ve spotted your potential fur-ever friend, send us a Facebook message.

We will get back to you (usually within one or two days) and discuss next steps.

ANGEL

About Angel

From her wonderful foster mum: “Little Angel with her petite frame, striking green eyes and unique colouring was found with 3 kittens when she was merely more than a kitten herself. When I met her, I knew a kind soul lived behind her scared eyes and after many weeks of patiently gaining her trust, she emerged from her crate and began her journey to becoming the content and charismatic kitty she is today. Loyal as the day is long, she remained at my bedside while recovering from surgery, comes running from any room when called and loves to greet her people at the door for a lengthy and vocal chat.

A no-fuss kitty she is clean, doesn’t try to escape, non-destructive (but has a scratch pad she knows is her own) and happy to stay off counters or any place she knows she doesn’t belong. She is very affectionate, loves to be stroked and brushed and rewards her people with a beautiful purr, but has her boundaries of only a very short cuddle, and no lap sitting unless one is on the loo or on camera for a work meeting. She meanders about or sleeps the hours away but has a few short bursts of playful energy morning and evening to earn the nickname “parkour kitty”.

• Age – 2 yo (NOV 25) • Sex – female • Coat – Tabby, Short Hair

Suitable for

She is untested around other cats, resides with a small dog…tolerates his existence but put him in his place from the start so untested with a dog with any sense of courage. Her foster family love her dearly and she is content and confident to mingle among the daily family routine. She is best suited to a quieter household with less action and no young children but plenty of adult human interaction.

HUNTER

About Hunter

Likes: Snuggling on the couch/bed, surveying his domain, playing. Dislikes: Loud noises, the outdoors – Hunter is an absolute snuggle bunny once you get to know him, but he’s had a rough start to life ???? Hunter is 9 years old (Nov ’25) and for the entire 9 years he was kept outside and not allowed inside his owner’s home. When his owner moved, he was surrendered as he was not wanted in the new home ???? (they took the dog but not poor Hunter).

• Age – 9 yo (NOV 25) • Sex – male • Coat -Tabby & White, Short Hair • Desexed • Microchipped • Vaccinated • Health checked

Suitable for

Hunter is a bit wary to start of with, but warms up very quickly. He is a very quirky little guy who loves to explore and do things in his own time. He LOVES playing and is great with other cats with the right introductions (he might love another playful cat). He is nervous with sudden noises so a calm and quieter household would suit him best. He’s still learning how to let you know what his boundaries are so older kids who can respect his need for space, a couple or single would be great. Unfortunately due to his time outside and white colouring, Hunter developed cancer on his ears. This has now been removed with surgery. He looks a bit funny but he’s not bothered at all! He will need to be an indoor only kitty.

Hunter is located in foster care in the South. Please contact us now if you would like to meet her.

BUFFY

About Buffy

Buffy is very sweet and affectionate. Very laid back and relaxed. Enjoys pats and brushes ????

• Age – 7 yo (NOV 25) • Sex – female • Coat -Tabby & White, Medium Hair • Desexed • Microchipped • Vaccinated • Health checked

Suitable for

She would be best suited to a quieter home… a chill gal who wouldn’t enjoy a busy or noisy household… Children 12yo + or adults only. Currently not fussed by her surrounding penmates, not tested around dogs but we feel she would likely be fine with another friendly low energy cat and/or dog in her company.

Buffy is located at our Penna shelter. Please contact us now if you would like to meet her.

KIKI & AGATE

About Kiki & Agate

Kiki and Agate are a special little duo in need of a quiet home with someone happy to be patient, allowing them to come out of their shells. Once they do, they are absolutely hilarious and have highly entertaining personalities. Kiki is very confident and relaxed around the home and will do anything, without exaggeration, for food ????. She spends 22 hours a day on the comfiest bed available, but will find you at exactly 1 minute to food time to squawk your reminder. A piece of string, a heater, and a treat and she’s all yours. Agate is a teeny tiny little dot who comes across as the shyer of the 2 but loves a good smooch – so much that she throws herself shoulder first to the ground and rolls around for belly rubs. Unlike Kiki she is also a bit of a Prima Donna and eats like a bird so does need feeding separately or Kiki will steal it.

• Age – Both 1yo (AUG 25) • Sex – Both female • Colour – Both Black & White • Desexed • Microchipped • Vaccinated

Suitable for

They are a very self-contained and well-suited to most homes/ families but perhaps not small children. They have lived with other cats, older children, and a small dog that Kiki is still constantly surprised is an actual real thing. Agate would love access to a safe outdoor enclosure but she has been fine indoors for her time with us. These two are not sisters, but have been together for quite some time and get along really well, so we are looking for a home for them together.

They are located in foster care in the South. Please contact us now if you would like to meet them.

CHECKERS & XENA

About Checkers & Xena

Just look at these two adorable tabbies!!! ???? Checkers and Xena are the best of friends and are looking for a forever home together ???? Checkers is such a character! To say he’s a fan favourite amongst the volunteers would be an understatement ???? He’s always happy to have a chat and seems to be one of those cats that really enjoys interacting with humans, and whilst we’re very confident that he’s never been in a home, he’s such a chill boy, we’re sure he will settle in beautifully quite quickly. Xena is very attached to Checkers, and they are generally curled up in bed together, often grooming each other ????

Checkers is 1 yo (JUL 25) Xena is 3 yo (JUL 25). Both are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Suitable for

Xena is happy to be around humans and we can sneak some pats in whilst she’s eating, but she would benefit from some one on one time to get her more comfortable being a house cat, so we will need their future family to be understanding of this and give her time to settle in.

The are located in our Penna Shelter. Please contact us now if you would like to meet them.

Olly is a beautiful 9-year-old tabby cat in need of his forever home. Located in Penna, Tasmania, Olly is a mature and affectionate feline searching for a loving family to call his own. Olly’s journey has been a bumpy one. Sadly, he has escaped from his previous home twice, spending a significant portion of his life as a stray. Due to unforeseen circumstances, his owner is unable to take him back, leaving Olly in need of a new beginning. Currently residing in our shelter, he is not enjoying his time here and has been over-grooming, longing for a place to truly call home. If you are ready to open your heart and home to Olly, please reach out to us This handsome feline deserves a second chance at a happy and secure life. Help us provide Olly with the love and care he truly deserves.

SPONSOR OUR SANCTUARY CATS

Why we need your help

Sanctuary cats are rescues that are often abandoned or have been born in an environment without human contact, they are very timid and some are very afraid of people. We need your help to continue provide regular veterinary health checks/vaccinations, food, litter other supplies as we don’t receive any funding and rely solely on donations.

What can you do to help?

From just $20 a month, you can sponsor one of our beautiful Sanctuary Cats!

You will receive an email every three months with an update on your cat and some lovely new photos.
