Foster cats

HOW FOSTERING WORKS

Cats may need to be fostered for many reasons:

  • waiting for a home
  • recovering from vet treatment
  • pregnant mums or mums with new kittens
  • kittens too young to be adopted
  • adult cats needing to grow some confidence

Some of our cats may only need a few weeks, while others might need longer. We will work with you to place foster cats with you that suit your lifestyle and home. You can apply to be a foster carer by filing out this form.

If you become a foster carer with us, we will put you on our foster register and reach out to you with cats that are needing care. We will also update Facebook and this page from time to time with cats that are needing foster placements.

We can provide you with everything you need to care for your foster cat (although we are always grateful when foster carers can contribute to the day to day costs of the cats in their care). The cats medical care and ongoing expenses are covered by RCSH while they are in your care.

FELINES LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME

Not all cats needing foster care will be posted on this page! We will often get in touch directly with our registered foster carers to place cats directly with them! We will post cats on this page from time to time if we are having trouble finding a foster carer for them, or if all our placements are full!

DOTTIE & HOUDINI

About Dottie and Houdini

We are looking for a permanent foster home for these two very sweet but very shy girls .. Dottie & Houdini have sadly come back to the shelter as their foster mum has become unwell and can no longer care for them, they had been with their foster mum for 2 years so they are very sad to be back. We are putting the call out for a wonderful family who will be able to take them on as permanent fosters ????

Suitable for

●These two girls are incredibly sweet but they are very shy of new people so they need a lot of time to adjust in a very quiet home with no children

●They get along well with other cats, not tested with dogs but we believe they will adjust fine around friendly and calm canine friends

● Strictly no free roaming – inside home only

Foster Details

What does a permanent foster carer mean ?? This means we take care of all their vet care for the rest of their lives (they must see our vets.) Their foster carers provide food, love and everything else that you would as if they are your own but we take care of their health checks etc ???? They both deserve such a happy, calm and long life.

Dottie & Houdini are located at the Penna Shelter. Please contact us now if you would like to meet them or find out more about how permanent fostering works.

She is available for adoption, but is also available for a foster to adopt.
